Kate Faehling a current student at Loyola University Chicago. She is wrapping up a double major in studio art with an emphasis in drawing and painting, and environmental studies, and is slated to graduate in May 2012. While favoring wet media such as water color and India inks, she has since branched into oil paints and is exploring illustration. The natural world has always been a big focus in art, bringing current events and ecological trends into many of her works.
Though currently living in a drafty old apartment in Rogers Park, Chicago, Kate grew up in Arlington Heights for the majority of her life. She attended Buffalo Grove High School and graduated with high honors.
While she has had displays on campus and has been active in many local art contests, this showing is her first time in a real gallery! She is very excited to be a part of Paper Crown’s exhibition and looks forward to more work with her hometown community of Arlington Heights.
